A new Resort Club in parternship with Missoni

June 2024: A new resort club in partnership with Missoni will debut at the Verdura Resort, the Rocco Forte Hotels address located on the southern coast of Sicily.

The project sees the Italian brand bring its iconic designs to Verdura Resort just in time for the 2024 summer season. Set on 230 hectares of sun-kissed Mediterranean coastline, Verdura Resort is the perfect backdrop for classic Missoni patterns that pay homage to the Dolce Vita.

The Missoni Resort Club at Verdura will see the hotel beach entirely customised with the iconic motifs and colours of the fashion brand. From sun loungers to chairs to cabanas, every element of the beach club’s design will reflect the hotel’s Mediterranean surroundings in a mixture of enchanting blue and green hues. Inside the resort, guests will also find the Missoni pop-up store, a single-brand boutique where they can browse carefully selected pieces that harmonise with the beach club aesthetic.

With a shared belief in tradition and quality, the collaboration between Missoni and Rocco Forte Hotels is a natural extension of the brands shared identity around Italian craftsmanship and international allure. Every element of the club’s design combines Missoni's creative energy with the sophistication and luxury of Verdura Resort.

The partnership extends from beach, to boutique, to bar, where fashion savvy guests will spot the "Missoni and Verdura Resort" cocktail list. Expertly crafted by the Verdura Resort mixologists, the cocktails are inspired by the abundant nature of the island and the artistic flare of Missoni. Available at both the pool bar and beach bar, each drink is made with local Sicilian ingredients, including those grown on the of the Rocco Forte Hotels estate farm in Agrigento

Italy at 100 MPH

Summer 2024 marks the start of a customizable journey through a combination of nine regions and eight hotels.

New for summer 2024, Rocco Forte Hotels are excited to announce an exclusive sports car experience spanning nine Italian regions and eight different hotels. “Italy at 100 mph” promises a memorable journey through the Italian countryside via Ferrari, Lamborghini or Maserati, available to be taken as a couple, a family or a group of up to forty sports cars.

The route passes through the verdant vineyards of Tuscany, exploring roads that date back to the Roman Empire, carrying on to the Eternal City of Rome and finishing in the Mediterranean paradise of Sicily. The four-wheel-excursion is available to drive independently, with a driver or with an escort vehicle upon request.

From a one-day itinerary to an epic ten-day tour, “Italy at 100 mph” offers various combinations of journey by sports car, passing through Tuscany, Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily. After thrilling days on the road, guests can absorb the culture of each region whilst staying at a Rocco Forte Hotel. They will be hosted at Hotel Savoy in Florence; Hotel de Russie, Hotel de la Ville and Rocco Forte House in Rome; Masseria Torre Maizza in Puglia and Villa Igiea, Verdura Resort and Rocco Forte Private Villas in Sicily.

“Italy at 100 mph” is a new and exciting way to experience Italy's cultural, artistic and gastronomic heritage, allowing guests to create their own itinerary. Drivers can even star in their own movielike masterpiece, reminiscent of classic Italian cinema, with the option to employ a professional videographer and drone operator to document the journey.

Launching the New Sicilian Season with a Significant Redesign

Following significant investment, Rocco Forte Hotels' Verdura Resort unveils an impressive makeover by Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen in collaboration with Olga Polizzi.

Rocco Forte Hotels’ Verdura Resort in Sicily has reopened its doors following a full refurbishment of its central building, the beating heart of the hotel. The island’s rich culinary traditions come to life at three new restaurants – L’Osteria, Zagara and Buongiorno – and at the newly launched cocktail bar Scirocco. Another exciting addition is the unveiling of the piazza beside the 16th century Saracen Tower. This lively and bustling space features a new shopping area and is home to Nagori, a restaurant where Japanese and Sicilian flavours meet. Guests can also rediscover Liolà, a Sicilian restaurant that reopens this season with a brand-new look.

NEW CULINARY OFFERINGS | The Resort’s eight dining outlets celebrate the finest Sicilian flavours, now complemented by several new restaurants serving international cuisine, each embodying the signature style of Rocco Forte Hotels. Curated by Creative Director of Food Fulvio Pierangelini, the hotel’s exceptional gastronomic offering includes Zagara, Buongiorno, Ondina, Amare and Liolà. This season, three new additions – L’Osteria, Scirocco Bar and Nagori – enrich the dining experience, with culinary offerings crafted to delight the most refined and discerning palates.

L’OSTERIA: A MULTIFACETED SPACE | Open from noon to 11pm, L’Osteria is a versatile all-day dining venue serving simple, comforting dishes. The menu features the likes of small cod fish from Sciacca. In homage to traditional osterias, wines are served in carafes, and a daily special is thoughtfully prepared. The Resort’s own vegetable garden provides the osteria with fresh produce each day, highlighting the property’s commitment to sustainability. The restaurant’s simple yet refined design blends natural materials like bamboo with geometric patterns, creating an informal ambience with a cosmopolitan feel. A seafront terrace completes the experience, offering delightful sea vistas extending to the coast of Africa.

SCIROCCO: THE ULTIMATE DESTINATION FOR COCKTAIL LOVERS | Perfect for an aperitivo or an after-dinner drink, Scirocco is the resort’s innovative cocktail bar, a seductive den with a fun and playful design. With its warm wood finishes and terracotta palettes, the bar exudes a warm and sophisticated feel. Hand painted wall motifs by artist Phyllis Claire Smith capture the movement of the Scirocco, an African wind that often blows across the bar’s panoramic terrace The cocktail menu is a tribute to the flavours of Sicily, with drinks prepared using fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs from the Resort’s Verdura Farm.

NAGORI: A NEW CULINARY CONCEPT BY FULVIO PIERANGELINI | Chef Fulvio Pierangelini’s latest gastronomic offering fully embraces the rhythm of the seasons, with dishes marrying western and Far Eastern culinary traditions. The chef’s creations are prepared using the finest local produce, incorporating both raw and cooked ingredients, complemented by greens sourced from the resort’s own vegetable garden. “The mastery, purity, precision, and artistry of Japanese sushi-making combine with fresh fish and seafood from the Mediterranean Sea. Nagori is a story of Japan and Sicily,” explains Chef Pierangelini. Located within the ancient Saracen Tower, the restaurant features a Japanese-style design rooted in the principles of minimalism, and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.

ZAGARA: THE RESORT’S SECRET GARDEN | Providing the perfect setting to host elegant dinners, Zagara’s new design echoes a magical summer night’s garden, with bronze sculptures, lush foliage, stone and wood elements, and climbing plants wrapped around majestic wooden columns. Secluded dining niches located throughout the garden provide an intimate and exclusive ambiance while ensuring plenty of privacy. Exuding the charm of a hidden garden, the restaurant sets the stage for unforgettable evenings, whether enjoyed indoors or by the pool.

THE NEW LOBBY AREA AND L’AGORÁ | As part of the resort’s stunning redesign, the main entrance – masterfully reimagined by Lady Olga Polizzi, Director of Design Rocco Forte Hotels – welcomes guests this season in a luxurious sanctuary of serenity and calm. Sunlight streams through all-glass windows, bathing the space in a golden hue. The area around the Saracen Tower is a gathering place where guests can shop and later take in sunset views over a drink or dinner at Nagori or Liolà. A charming Sicilian trattoria, Liolà features a vibrant new design that celebrates local craftsmanship, with colourful majolica tiles and warm terracotta tones. The restaurant’s fun and vibrant setting makes it the perfect destination for a family meal, with wood-fired pizzas also served here.

Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel, has announced a new Longevity Programme at its award-winning Irene Forte Spa, inspired by remarkable scientific research revealing a longevity hotspot in Sicily's Sicani Mountains.

The small mountain community of Caltabellotta has been identified as an emerging Blue Zone by Professor Gianni Pes, a pioneer of Blue Zone research, together with leading biogerontologist Professor Calogero Caruso. This latest paper is the result of nearly two decades of investigation across Sicily, with a year spent focusing specifically on Caltabellotta. The research, assisted by Verdura Resort, reveals the town's extraordinary demographics as an emerging Blue Zone and attributes the remarkable vitality of its inhabitants to a way of life that balances tradition with natural abundance.

“We had long suspected something unique was happening in Sicily's mountain towns,” says Professor Pes. “Caltabellotta stood out, not only in the data, but in its deeply rooted traditions, diet, and way of life.”

Drawing on these findings and her own long-standing and personal ties to this community just 22 km from Verdura Resort, Irene Forte – an honorary citizen of Caltabellotta – has created a way to connect guests with the region's rare natural rhythms and lifestyle practices.

“Stargazing Suite and Astro-Bed”: the Roman sky becomes a nocturnal stage for guests of the Forte Suites at Rocco Forte Hotels’ Via Sistina address, with a dual debut set for summer 2025.

The “Stargazing Suite” itinerary, developed in collaboration with expert astrophysicists unveils the mysteries of stars and celestial bodies through the lenses of professional telescopes guiding guests through the exploration of Rome’s sky in a dialogue with the mythological figures who once shaped its stories.

With “Astro-Bed”, the Roman summer turns into a dreamlike escape, and guests may choose to continue their stellar journey by spending the night on a bed set up on the private terrace of their Forte Suite. A night spent under millions of stars, not just five.

VERDURA RESORT ENHANCES GOLF EXPERIENCE WITH NEW CLUBHOUSE AND EARNS AWARD FOR LANDSCAPE AND BIODIVERSITY PROTECTION

July 2025: Sicily’s Verdura Resort has unveiled a new clubhouse positioned between its two championship golf courses, strengthening its status as one of Europe’s leading luxury golf destinations.

Positioned between the resort’s award-winning West Shore and East Links courses, the  clubhouse brings together classic architecture, refined finishes and contemporary functionality offering golfers a space to relax, recharge and reconnect.

Curated by award-winning architects Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen, the designers have used the heritage of traditional golf clubhouses as the inspiration to pay tribute to the game’s roots. Inside vintage golf posters, curated memorabilia, and golf-inspired design elements such as ball-shaped furnishings and rich wood panelling, creating a space that blends classic elegance with distinctive character. Deep green tones, plush leather seating and mosaic flooring enhance the refined, welcoming atmosphere.

At the heart of the new clubhouse is the club lounge and bar, situated directly beside the 18th hole of the West Shore course. Opening into a panoramic terrace, appointed with sofas and lounge seating, the space provides a setting for players to enjoy a post-round drink whilst enjoying uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean Sea and the verdant fairways. Inside, the atmosphere is refined: a large screen broadcasts major international tournaments and sporting events, while the bar features a curated selection of fine wines, premium spirits and local craft beers.

The clubhouse features a premium golf shop stocked with top-tier apparel, equipment and accessories from a collection of golf’s most prestigious brands. The clubhouse is the latest in a series of significant golf and resort enhancements to be unveiled by Verdura Resort. Meanwhile, the resort’s golf academy has been expanded and fitted with the latest swing analysis and club-fitting technology – part of a wider multi-million-euro investment in Verdura’s golf facilities.

KITE-SURF ACADEMY | Summer is the season for water sport, and for the first time, Verdura Resort launches a water sport academy with star Nick Jacobsen, the danish kitesurfer famous for his unique style and spectacular moves. Taking place between the 14th and 20th of July, join Academy with the stars to improve technique and learn new tips on freestyle from the pioneer of extreme kiteboarding, best known for kite jumping off the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

FULVIO & FRIENDS | This summer XX presents three special evenings where Chef Fulvio Pierangelini, Creative Director of Food at Rocco Forte Hotels, will team up with three renowned international chefs to create exclusive menus for guests of the hotel.

DJ ACADEMY AND LIVE MUSIC | This summer, as part of Academies with the stars, guests will have the opportunity to join a three day programme learning beat matching with the international DJ Licht, known for his experimental grooves. An original experience and unique dive into music technology taking place on the 24th, 25th and 26th of October.

This summer is all about entertainment with live music on the weekends and during the week, until the end of October. Among these, a standout event of the season: the exclusive live concert by British jazz, rock and R&B singer Sarah Jane Morris, on Monday 4th August.
